This is the perfect course for anyone over the age of 8 looking to start sailing! There are four levels of training available for children looking to learn how to sail:
RYA Stage 1
By the end of this introductory course you will have a basic understanding of how a boat sails, with some experience of steering and handling the boat. This module includes; Launching and recovery, steering, parts of the boat, basic sailing.
RYA Stage 2
On this course a range of sailing skills and knowledge to help become a confident sailor will be taught. This module includes basic sailing skills, ropework and collision avoidance.
RYA Stage 3
Equivalent to an Adult Level 2 in the National Sailing Scheme, this course will allow for more independent sailing. This module includes rigging, launching and recovery, sailing techniques, capsize recovery, and sailing theory.
RYA Stage 4
Sail a double handed boat as crew or helm, and solve a variety of problems afloat. (optional if Stage 3 was taken in a double hander). This module includes; Rigging, launching and recovery, sailing techniques and manoeuvres in crewed boats, recovering a man overboard.

Provela’s sailing club is located in the village marina of Mar de Cristal on the shores of the Mar Menor a 170 square kilometre lagoon, with great winds which has been affectionately dubbed “one of sailing’s best kept secrets”. With fine sandy beach and a promenade that links via the beach to Playa Honda in the south, with a selection of bars, cafes and shops, but the stunning views from the sailing club and beach across to the La Manga Strip make a visit here well worth it!
